Children who come into foster care have been abused or neglected, and all have experienced traumatic events. Their young lives have been an emotional roller coaster. In most cases, they’ve been removed from the only family they’ve ever known, to be placed with someone they’ve never met.
As a foster family welcomes them into their life, their home, and their heart, these children start a journey that is filled with many highs and lows, feelings of conflicted loyalty, helplessness and hopelessness. And, the common denominator for all these children is grief and loss. Foster and adoptive families who care for these children need your Support. Child Bridge partners with individuals, families, and churches willing to Embrace the need, become Equipped to help, and Empower them as they walk alongside the courageous families who are wrapping their arms around children in need. Not everyone can, or should, foster or adopt, but everyone can do something. Child Bridge can help you become part of a family support network for foster families... whether you know them through church, work, or your neighborhood. The ways to help are limitless! |
