Fifteen-year-old Mya is an Orange Chicken aficionado & adores homemade enchiladas. She can play "Just Dance" for Wii for hours without slowing down & not-so-secretly prefers Katy Perry over Rihanna.
She openly hates hiking, but appreciates gentle walks through nature if she can share stories about her siblings while you walk. Mya loves playing volleyball & her overhand serve is deadly. She enjoys shopping, road trips, & old puppies that drool a lot. Mya is also incredibly creative & puts a lot of sincere effort into all of her projects. She is quite the poet, but has a hard time sharing her work with others. Mya is fiercely loyal to her loved ones. She never forgets someone's birthday or their favorite dessert. Mya always roots for underdog & has a heart of gold when it comes to helping & encouraging the people around her.
At school Mya has an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and will need to be in a school that can help her achieve her highest potential through lots of supports.
Due to a great deal of difficulty in her past, Mya carries pain inside that can at times be overwhelming. She needs the confidence that she has a family who is going to be with her no matter what. A family that can provide … along with deep understanding of how past hurts affect the present will be key to her healing journey.

And, please keep her in your prayers.
