Sending our foster and adopted children to school can be an incredibly challenging experience for all of us! What's a 504? Does my child qualify for an IEP? How do I successful advocate for my kiddo in the school? What should I have prepared for teacher conferences? What do I do when I think the school is struggling with my child? If you have any of these questions, PLUK will be there to answer them for you! They will talk about how to advocate for testing, how to prepare for an IEP meeting and what to bring to those meetings, and so much more!

What does adoption look like through the lens of someone who was adopted? How does someone who was adopted suggest talking to children about adoption? What do they wish their parents had done differently? This session will have a panel of adults who were adopted as children. They will answer questions, tell you when they were told, how they were told, and what they thought and felt about being adopted.
